After directing the animation for Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Williams continued to work on a film that had he had been working on for 25 years (since 1964)
Williams self funded the film with money he earned from making commercials and animated sequences for live action films
He wanted the film to be his masterpiece and to be regarded as an animation classic, but his obsessive attention to detail resulted in his undoing
In 1990 Williams signed a deal with Warner Bros. to pay for the film to be finished but Williams failed to deliver the finished film by 1991 as agreed, due to remaking scenes repeatedly
Taken Away
Warner Bros. pulled out and the film was taken away from Williams and the film was finished without Williams on board
The film got released in the USA and called Arabian Night
It was massively changed from the version Williams was working on with characters cut, cheaper songs inserted, voices dubbed over parts meant to be silent and most of the climatic battle taken out
The film only made back a small amount of it’s 24 million budget and at one point was given away as a free DVD with cereal packets
Williams retired from animation and disappeared from public view for a while
He still refuses to talk about the film

Blog task Question: Whether we think if he should had finish the film
I believed that he should had finished the film himself rather than having someone take over "your project" as it kinda destroys your original idea as the person who created it rather than have a different mindset coming into it to change what you want to make.
