How do you feel the different techniques used in the film (black and white, split screen, flash forwards, time lapse, animation, repeating the run, music) helped to tell the story?
I believe the story is based on the theme that everything you do makes something else occur, i.e the "butterfly effect". The split screen effect is very effective in showing the butterfly effect idea, as it shows two events happening at the same time which are influenced by each other. By showing these events side by side, it makes it evident to the audience that everything in the film is connected.
Did you notice any recurring motifs / themes?
Themes - Money, time , love, fate, challenge, change, chance. Symbols - clocks, spirals, number 20, red, gun, scream, glass shattering.
Would you recommend this film?
I would recommend this film to a mature audience as the themes and the storyline takes an understanding to comprehend.
