BSA 231 - Resolve (Week 12)

In this week's class, we did some colour correction on Da Vinci Resolve.

We learnt what are nodes and what they do. There are two different types of nodes, one being Serial node and the other being Parallel node.

The Serial Node is like a Serial Circuit but a little bit different in film terms. The nodes flows in order from left to right and can only be changed in order by delinking and relinking the different nodes. This means it can be connected in a sequence, taking its input from the output of the previous node, and feeding its output to the input of the next sequential node.

Parallel Node works differently than the Serial Node. When a parallel node is added, you will notice a new node appearing below your existing node. Both of these nodes shares a common source input. The output of these two nodes feeds another type of node also known as a parallel mixer node. The parallel mixer node combines the outputs of two (or more) nodes into a single output, regardless of the order they are connected in.

We were also told to
Always label your nodes -  Provides a much easier time navigating through the nodes.
