We started the class off with some history and introduction to motion graphics and compositing.
Motion Graphics
Any graphic which has been animated in any way
Special Effects
Usually used to refer to effects done during filming such as pyrotechnics/ rain/ wind/ flying rigs etc etc etc
Visual Effects
Usually used to refer to Computer enhanced imagery which is added in post production
Compositing
The digital manipulated combination of at least two source images to produce an integrated result

After Effects
We started off by making a new composition then later added a shape in as a moving object to reveal our text.
At the bottom were some key frames that we did to change the scale, rotation, position and opacity of the object that we wanted to animate.
Text was later added and animated so it starts from off screen and enters into the screen.
A mask layer was added to hide the text before it enters the screen from the right. Because the mask detects the text animation itself, a mask path was added to counter the mask from following the text animation.
